Dean Alonistiotis
Advocacy Chair
Dean currently serves as Chief of Staff for MWRD Commissioner Kim du Buclet. Dean is responsible for the crafting and implementation of the office's community and external engagement. He has worked in both the public and nonprofit sector during his career in a wide range of positions focusing on community engagement and government relations. Dean has a B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University and his MPPA from Northwestern University.

Tim Frick
Chair Emeritus
Tim Frick started his digital agency Mightybytes in early 1998 to help purpose-driven companies, social enterprises, and large nonprofits solve problems, amplify their impact, and drive measurable results. He is also the author of four books, including Designing for Sustainability: A Guide to Building Greener Digital Products and Services. Tim regularly presents at conferences and offers workshops on sustainable design, measuring impact, and problem-solving in the digital economy.

Shilpa Gadhok is an award-winning brand executive with experience leading global brands at Procter & Gamble and The Hershey Company, as well as high-growth start-ups. She is the Founder & CEO of SEE GOOD STRATEGY GROUP, a consulting firm helping organizations activate growth by leading with purpose and driving progress across socioeconomic and environmental initiatives. She speaks about the role of heritage in unlocking human potential and building brands & teams that change the world. She is a Featured Guest Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Avi serves as the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships at the University of Illinois Chicago's (UIC) Innovation Office. With expertise in cross-sector partnerships, he forges connections between UIC and real-world innovation opportunities that create positive impact. Avi has an MBA from Loyola University Chicago's Baumhart Scholars program, specializing in sustainability and social impact. He is deeply passionate about cultivating partnerships that bridge academia, innovation, and the B Corp movement.

Kim has over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, working in the Underwriting, Product Management and Client Consulting areas. She lives in the Logan Square neighborhood and in her free time, you can find her reading, attempting to tackle DIY home projects, and spending time outdoors with her dog.

Emily Taub
Events & Learning Chair
Emily is currently the Business Operations Manager (or the ‘BOM’ as some colleagues call her) for her team at Arabella Advisors, a fellow Chicago B Corp. She manages the team’s strategic and operational priorities, as well as spearheads their internal communications and engagement efforts. Arabella Advisors, a philanthropic consulting firm, has given Emily the chance to combine impact with business and has led her to pursue this passion here with B Local Illinois. In her free time, you can find her reading by the lake, cooking a new recipe, or trying out a new local restaurant.
